School Meals
We are proud to offer nutritious, well-balanced school meals that support children’s health, concentration and learning throughout the school day.
Freshly Prepared, Thoughtfully Served
All of our school meals are prepared fresh on site each day, with careful attention to quality and presentation to encourage children to try a wide range of foods. We are committed to offering pupils a healthy, balanced and varied diet, alongside a few familiar home comforts that children know and enjoy.
Food is also an important way we bring learning, celebration and fun together. Throughout the school year, we run themed lunch days linked to curriculum learning, books and significant events. We also recognise religious festivals such as Christmas and Eid, helping children to understand the importance of food in celebration and community across faiths. Marking wider cultural celebrations such as Chinese New Year and Bastille Day with special one-day menus, gives our pupils the chance to explore different cuisines and traditions.
One of the most anticipated events of the year is our annual Christmas Dinner. This is a firm favourite with pupils and staff alike and is made extra special by being served by the School Leadership Team, reflecting the strong sense of community that runs through our school.
The Headteacher’s Table
Each Friday, we host the Headteacher’s Table—a special dining experience for children who have received a Headteacher’s Award. Pupils are invited to sit with Mrs Wainwright, enjoy table service, and celebrate their achievements in a calm, respectful and memorable way.
This tradition is about more than recognition. It strengthens our sense of community, bringing children together to share conversation, reflect on their successes and learn from one another. It also provides a valuable opportunity to develop oracy, with pupils encouraged to speak confidently, listen respectfully and engage thoughtfully in discussion—reinforcing the importance of communication at every opportunity, both in and beyond the classroom.
Come Dine With Me
Once a year, following a class assembly, we invite parents and carers to take part in our much-loved Come Dine With Me event. Families are warmly welcomed to stay in school and enjoy lunch alongside their child, sharing in a relaxed and meaningful part of the school day.
This experience strengthens our school–home partnership, reinforces our sense of community, and gives families valuable insight into daily school life. Sitting together to eat encourages positive conversations, good manners and confidence in speaking.
Come Dine With Me is a simple but powerful opportunity to celebrate togetherness, build relationships and show children that learning, conversation and community matter at every moment of the school day.
Menus
Our school meals are freshly prepared and follow a 3-week rolling menu, ensuring a good balance of nutrition, choice and variety across each cycle. This approach helps children enjoy familiar favourites while also being encouraged to try new foods.
Importantly, our menus are shaped with children’s voices at the heart of decision-making. The Healthy Bodies and Minds Council plays an active role in sharing pupil feedback, suggesting ideas and helping to influence what appears on the menu. This ensures that meals reflect children’s preferences while still meeting our commitment to healthy, balanced eating—supporting both physical wellbeing and positive mental health.
